Terms, privacy and contact

Accuracy

Animalpedia is a personal, non-commercial project. Pages are drafted with the help of an AI assistant from the sources listed on each page. Pages may not have been fact-checked line by line by an expert, so they may contain mistakes or leave things out. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or expert advice, so please consult a professional for anything critical. Check the cited sources, and if you find an error, use Suggest an edit.

Privacy

Animalpedia values your privacy. We don't use accounts, advertising, analytics, cookies, or trackers. The only times you ever share information with us are when you submit an animal suggestion, page review, or edit.

Fonts, scripts and images are loaded from this site only. Links to other websites, such as sources, photo pages and licence pages, leave Animalpedia, and those sites have their own privacy practices.

Reuse

The text of each page was written for Animalpedia from the cited sources. Photographs and maps keep the licences shown in their captions and on the photo credits page.

Name

Animalpedia is an independent, non-commercial project. It is not connected to, endorsed by or affiliated with any other product, company, website or app that uses a similar name.

Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe something on Animalpedia infringes your copyright, or you are the author of a photograph and the credit or licence shown is wrong, please write to the contact below. Say which page and which item it concerns, how you can be identified as the rights holder, and what you would like done. Valid requests will be handled promptly, and the item will be removed or corrected.
